Job Description

Piper Maddox has partnered with a top US solar financier and developer that builds utility-scale solar projects. Together, we’re searching for a Quality Safety Manager based in Washington, DC.

This is a truly innovative company that sets itself apart from traditional solar IPPs. The company has around 150 employees and has achieved incredible success in asset management, project development, trading, and fund management. They have created some incredible partnerships with a leading international energy infrastructure fund as well as extremely well-known institutional partners.

As a leader in the market, they are continually expanding their market presence and project pipeline. This company has developed and financed over 200 projects, totaling over a billion dollars in solar assets, and they have managed over $450 million of institutional capital deployed. This company is looking to continue its trend of being a leader in the sustainability industry by growing its team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the creation of an Owner Quality Program to serve as a guide for EPCs.
  • Oversee the development of an Owner Safety Program intended for EPC guidance.
  • Assist in establishing quality and safety standards for energy storage projects.
  • Aid in the review and approval of contractors’ Health and Safety and Quality Assurance Plans.
  • Coordinate both internally and externally to conduct Owner’s Quality and Safety inspections for projects under construction, necessitating travel to multiple sites approximately once a month.
  • Create and implement quality control trackers for full-time on-site Owner Construction Managers to use regularly.
  • Offer guidance and support to the project team when Quality and Safety questions arise during the construction phase.
  • Contribute to the creation of an internal Safety Plan for Sol personnel conducting site visits or leading site tours.
  • Help establish annual Safety and Quality metrics.

We are looking for someone with a background similar to:

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Applied Sciences
  • Over 5 years of experience in the solar construction and safety industry for utility-scale projects
  • Familiarity with OSHA, local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • NABCEP Certification is a plus
