Our client is on the lookout for a talented PV Engineer to play a pivotal role in transforming green field sites or empty rooftops into fully operational solar installations.

As a Senior PV Engineer, you’ll spearhead the technical and engineering facets of solar PV projects, spanning from initial assessments to final construction support. Your contributions will shape the future of sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft comprehensive designs for PV systems, encompassing mounting systems, electrical configurations, and equipment specifications.
  • Provide expert technical guidance throughout site evaluation, permitting, interconnection agreements, and financial modeling processes.
  • Conduct meticulous energy production modeling and site evaluations to optimize project outcomes.
  • Lead the technical facets of permitting, utility coordination, and interconnection, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Oversee coordination studies, commissioning activities, and integration of energy storage systems into solar PV systems.
  • Mentor and empower junior engineering colleagues through knowledge-sharing and training initiatives.
  • Drive the development and upkeep of design tools, standards, and specifications to enhance project efficiency.
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide for site visits and project support, as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems.
  • Proficiency in PV modeling software such as PVSyst and Helio Scope, along with a solid grasp of related tools.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and power systems principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently conduct power system studies.
  • Excellent communication skills and adeptness in problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with construction techniques and project management fundamentals.

Nice to Have:

  • NABCEP certification.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Electrical desired, but not required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant software.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and solar PV systems.
  • Previous involvement in building design within an MEP firm.
  • Experience in integrating energy storage systems.
  • Prior employment with a Utility, ISO, IPP, or Professional Engineering firm.
  • Leadership experience guiding engineering teams.
