Overview
Our purpose at Jones Power is to enhance the lives of our employees, customers, vendors and communities we serve. The strategic intent for Project Controls at Jones is to oversee and be accountable for successfully managing the budget including cash flow and schedule on all active renewable and midstream projects and rolling the summaries up to a portfolio view.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Model, lead, and advocate the Jones Power core values; seek ways to integrate values in business dealings and strategies; protect the companys reputation; provide direct management and leadership of assigned personnel; conduct performance appraisals of direct reports and provide coaching, mentoring and reinforcement to grow and develop high performing teams.
- Up to 50 % travel
- Work directly with the Project Managers, estimating team, and Accounting to provide cost support during all projects
- Develops reliable tools, systems & processes, and adopts best practices necessary to successfully track construction progress and control project costs and risks
- Manage the creation, preparation and tracking of detailed project cost reports including budgets, commitments, actuals, and forecasts
- Develop and prepare cash flows from key inputs including CPM schedules, procurement agreements, subcontractor reports, and professional service providers, among others to support internal forecasts
- Develop, maintain and update Schedules both at project level and portfolio level
- Supports the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and strategic planning activities by consolidating key financial information, business drivers, and leveraging external research and internal team expertise
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual close support by reviewing variance of actuals vs budget vs forecast, analyzing trends and preparing insightful reports, and vendor accruals
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in the construction industry solar, BESS, and midstream experience preferred
- 3+ years experience in project controls
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred
- Experience with ERP systems
- High level of proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid drivers license required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Oral and Written communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- During travel to potential job sites, this position willrequire the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/aridconditions.
