Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) is a unique electric generation and distribution cooperative, serving 59 communities across Alaska. Our operation spans 46 small, isolated grids relying on a mix of diesel, wind, and solar generation to power 11,513 meters and maintain 515 miles of distribution line.

As a Project Manager at Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, you’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where adaptability is key to your success. You’ll be responsible for requesting bid proposals, establishing contracts, and ensuring quality assurance through comprehensive work plans, material reviews, and detailed inspections. To excel as a Project Manager at Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, a strong foundation in management, engineering, or a related discipline is essential, with a BA/BS degree as a prerequisite. The ideal candidate will possess over five years of professional experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to navigate the complexities of electric utilities and renewable resources. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is also required, showcasing your commitment to industry standards and best practices. Proficiency in project management software and tools will further enhance your ability to coordinate tasks effectively, maintain quality assurance, and manage timelines.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are crucial for overseeing construction activities while balancing ongoing utility operations. Knowledge And Skills Required For The Position Are

  • BA/BS required in Management
  • Engineering or related discipline and 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Project Management Professional certification
