Occupational Summary: The Project Engineer III will mentor junior engineers and CAD designers in both General/Physical Layout and Protection & Control aspects of renewables and substation design projects. The candidate will serve as the sealing engineer for most of the team’s work and will also manage customer relations and business development with select clients. This position reports to the Divisional Manager.
Requirements
Position requirements include:
- Mentor junior engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, overseeing existing projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing future business and upcoming project plans.
- Expertise in various areas, including Solar/Wind Farms, Battery Storage, substation, and utility interconnection engineering, such as physical layout design, protection/control/SCADA design, relay settings programming, field support, commissioning, and relay testing.
- Perform and direct project design, including engineering calculations, utilizing computer design software, and referencing relevant engineering procedures and design manuals.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of complex project documents, including specifications and bid documents.
- Conduct and direct detailed drawing reviews, ensuring that full plan sets clearly, concisely, and thoroughly represent the design intent.
- Assist in training division Project Engineers I and II.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Four to nine years of relevant experience required.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
