Role Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for the administrative and technical aspects for utility scale renewable generation developments across the US. Must be able to work in the United States without employer support or sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
- Support efforts for project siting and preliminary design of new power generation developments with a focus on solar, energy storage, and combined cycle projects.
- Coordinate with various contractors, operators, consultants, and stakeholders across portfolio of development projects and operating assets
- Gain subject matter expertise on latest trends and technology in power generation markets and effectively communicate internally.
- Support environmental, permitting, and electrical interconnection work.
- Create and manage project schedule.
- Assist on technical efforts for the procurement of services and equipment including writing bid documents and specifications, evaluating bids received, supporting contract negotiations, and reviewing contract deliverables (drawings, reports, calculations, etc.)
- Non-remote position. Candidate must be able to report to the office in Buffalo Grove, Illinois M-F, 8am – 5pm.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering required, Professional Engineers License a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the power industry preferably with an independent power developer or an engineering consulting firm.
- Knowledge of combined-cycle and renewable energy generation
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Microsoft Project.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Strong work ethic and motivation for professional growth.
- Some travel required.
