Job Summary:

The Project Director will manage the full construction project lifecycle, from initial project planning phases through closeout, ensuring projects are completed on time. They will work with clients, Sales, Field Services and other internal stakeholders to establish project plans, resource allocation, budgets, and schedules all while embodying our core values. Reporting directly to the COO, this role will oversee the team of Project Planners, Production, Fleet & Facility and O&M, driving excellence in project planning and oversight.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Project Management Department.
  • Responsible for a team of managers that oversee the project planning, hardware procurement, shop production, and equipment and asset management functions.
  • Develop and lead a team to implement project management processes, procedures, and best practices that demonstrate agility and flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Provide guidance and support to empower team members to excel in their roles, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to succeed.
  • Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams including Sales, Field Services and Finance.
  • Oversee the creation of project schedules, scope, budgets, and resource plans with a focus on follow-through. Monitor progress to identify and address potential risks and issues proactively. Initiate change-order process when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships, demonstrating a commitment to our core values of Respect, Agility, and Follow-Through.
  • Oversee and direct external communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle. Attend client meetings to ensure project delivery and expectations are communicated internally and externally.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize systems and processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the project management department. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to streamline workflows and enhance overall performance.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports, updates, and presentations to key stakeholders, demonstrating commitment to follow-through and transparency.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, foster collaboration, and drive results in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating respect for diverse perspectives and contributions.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from concept to completion, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent project management skills with a focus on planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks to meet project objectives and deadlines while demonstrating agility and adaptability in response to changing priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with experience implementing process improvements and best practices that demonstrate a commitment to follow-through and accountability.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field’s policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Positive attitude and willing to collaborate with others exercising strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work across several software and computer programs including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Hubspot, Trello, and ClickUp.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, business administration, engineering, or related field; advanced degree and/or PMP highly preferred
  • 6+ years of project management experience required
  • Renewable energy industry experience preferred

Compensation:

$115,000 – $145,000 annual salary depending on experience. 15% bonus potential based on company metrics and departmental KPIs.

Work Location:

Must be able to commute a minimum of 3 days each week to offices in Niwot, CO and Longmont, CO. Some travel required for conferences, client or vendor meetings and ongoing educational opportunities.
