Project Development Engineer

⚡ Role: Land Acquisition and Development Engineer

💸 $100k to $160K

Storm4 is partnered with a solar & BESS developer based in the NE of the US, known for taking on challenging projects and repurposing land to contribute to the environmental cleanup. They have a strong pipeline and a growing team that they are looking to expand.

They are building out their team and one of their key hires is a Land Acquisition and Development Engineer that will focus on strategic real estate initiatives and performing engineering tasks for projects sites from initial identification through to initial phases of development. This person requires experience in land acquisition and development engineering in the NE of the US.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee site and land acquisition efforts to support the company’s siting and project development objectives across the United States, with a primary focus on utility-scale solar and standalone battery storage projects.
• Work alongside Engineers and Development Managers to provide project support for development, design, and cost estimation activities related to site inception and initial budget planning.
• Visit project sites to assess site dimensions, electrical systems, PV array location and interconnection options.
• Develops and build relationships with landowners as well as key community stakeholders that enables a collaborative environment for site control negotiations.
• Review and vet potential opportunities through assisting in due diligence.
• Perform system energy modeling and energy estimates.

Requirements:

• A degree in engineering, real estate or other applicable degrees.
• Experience in large project transactions – renewables, oil & gas or similar transaction types.
• Experience using GIS platforms, Helioscope and PV SYST.
• Experience across development/construction projects in renewables, oil & gas etc. in the NE of the US/PJM.
• Ability to travel to and conduct site visits to assess potential project sites.
• Preferred – 3 years of experience in solar or BESS development.
