Incentive: PIP 10%

Job Summary

The Program Support Leader is responsible for providing technical/operational support for the PSE&G Vegetation Management department.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Program Support Leader will provide support for various projects within the Vegetation Management department (VM), including financial and regulatory reporting, accruals, forecasting, data analysis, requisitions, invoice processing, and personnel tracking.
  • Generating and maintaining performance metrics (milestones and budget) for the VM department, and interfacing with outside departments and senior management.
  • Prepare, initiate, and execute budgets, financial forecast, work schedule, and regulatory programs.
  • Assign and direct work of BSS/PSS direct reports to accomplish the desired results in a safe, efficient, and expeditious manner. Including training and development of direct reports, performance expectations, preparing employee performance reviews, and counseling as required.
  • Achieve the desired results the VM department with PSEG values and tools, sound management practices and a total commitment to teamwork.
  • Assist VM personnel in storm response and major events.
  • Promote safety principles.
  • Be willing to respond outside of normal hours.
  • Layout/supervise the work of others.
  • Train/instruct personnel in work practices and applicable technology.
  • Utilize ability to recognize unusual conditions and take corrective action.
  • Supports safe execution of VM activities through integrated planning and effective coordination with other functional groups (highest levels of service reliability, customer service and community relationship and compliance with environmental and other Federal, State, and local regulations).

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with financial and regulatory reporting, accruals, forecasting, data analysis or relevant business support work.
Demonstrated planning, management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret operational measures.
Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.
Strong computer skills.
Working knowledge of SAP. Ariba, and other operational databases.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Desired:

  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures and experience in managing outside contractors.
  • Experience in the support of utility vegetation management activities.
  • Knowledge of utility procurement strategies and accounting practices.
  • Familiar with State and Federal regulations applicable to utility vegetation management.
  • Knowledge of applicable ANSI, OSHA, and Best Management Practices regarding vegetation management activities.
