The Position

Production Utility-1

Job Summary
  • Performance of duties Imerys Safety Policies & Procedures and abide by all legal requirements
  • Perform required pre-shift and workplace examinations
  • Read, understand, follow and execute all duties ISO Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Inspect work area and equipment daily in order to find and correct any safety, quality, operational or reliability issues
  • Monitor, operate and correct the performance of the industrial equipment ISO procedures and machine parameters to ensure the safe, quality, efficient and energy efficient production of packaged air-floated kaolin clay
  • Operate silos, material conveyance (screw conveyors, elevators, etc), Haver Rotopacker, super sacker, palletizer, forklifts and other equipment
  • Assist professional maintenance in troubleshooting the equipment and reporting substandard operation or conditions
  • Fill customer orders according to MSS (master shipping sheet); to include modifying packaging (bag), clay, bag weight, bag markings, slip sheets, pallets and other configuration ISO customer specifications.
  • Clean machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure proper operation & safe working conditions; to include a daily end-of-shift work area cleanup.
  • Records production and operational information to include any downtime or standby time.
  • Manually weigh bags to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Manually reposition bags on pallets when necessary.
  • Communication and coordination skills required to convey loading/order processing status to other operators and management
  • English reading & writing reading skills
  • Basic math skills required to accurately process work orders
  • Basic computer skills in order to operate machinery and report production
  • Forklift driving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Industrial plant
  • Exposure to dust, noise and various lighting conditions
  • Exposure to hot & cold ambient temperatures
  • Climbing and descending stairs and fixed ladders
  • Climbing, bending, stooping, balancing
  • Lifting & or holding 55 lbs
  • Use of cleaning tools (shovels, brooms, etc)

  • High School Diploma / 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Performs other duties as assigned
