Job Description

What’s the job?

The Product Manager will be a critical member of the Saint-Gobain Solar team. The Product Manager is the internal ‘expert’ for the Sunstyle product, creating and executing a strategy and roadmap for continued profitable growth. Through market knowledge, customer intimacy, and internal capability awareness. The Product Manager will manage the portfolio to both develop next-generation products in direct response to market needs as well as rationalize obsolete products as necessary. The Product Manager is responsible for defining pricing, establishing clear and relevant positioning statements that demonstrate value to its customers, and managing the creation of all sales tools and promotional content that is aligned with the strategy of the business.

The position is responsible for the support activities related to product line growth and profitability. This position has no direct reports and requires an individual who is entrepreneurial and has proficient interpersonal skills to achieve results through cooperation. The individual will need to interface with a wide range of internal and external individuals and functions, including operations, R & D, logistics, sales, finance, and customer service daily. Marketing duties relative to the product line include Product line management (pricing, branding, and compilation of technical data, R&D support for new product development, selection and implementation of tools to support sales activity) and Marketing Communication activities targeted to the Mixing, Sampling and Cold Storage space (trade shows, advertising, digital marketing, and technical communications).

What will you do?

  • Lead the development of the product strategy and roadmap to maximize share, sale, and profitability
  • In conjunction with the full Saint-Gobain Solar team, assist in the development of the strategic plan for the overall business
  • Coordinate relationships between key supply and distribution partners and with internal teams as needed
  • Key technical leader to the sales team, external distribution partners, and contractor base
  • Coordinate and/or participate in trade shows, customer events, educational seminars, and additional activities in support of the business

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in the required field
  • 5+ years’ experience in product management/sales/marketing related to solar and/or construction required
  • Project management experience in solar manufacturing and/or installation preferred
  • Demonstrated capability in planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring projects and programs.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and computer skills with the ability to work effectively and positively within all organizational levels.
  • Required to be an excellent communicator.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams in product-related projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of P&L calculations, product costing, and general financial aptitude.
  • Ability to travel 20%+ to interface with teams, establish activities, and work with customers as well as attend domestic and international trade shows.
