Job Description Summary:
The Process Engineer 3 (PE3) will independently perform process engineering activities for FQT’s technologies. This role involves managing engineering tasks from project conception through detailed engineering, commissioning, system start-up, and plant optimization. The PE3 will demonstrate strong engineering skills and contribute significantly to the execution of FQT’s engineering project and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Engineering:
- Independently performs process engineering deliverables such as: Design Basis, Mass & Energy Balances, Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
- Performs sizing and specifications of equipment, piping, instrumentation and valves
- Independently performs process engineering calculations and process modeling in ChemCad
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of all FQT Process Engineering Deliverables throughout the entire FEL process (Front-End Loading)
- Develops plant trials and R&D activities, including patents, to progress FQT technologies
Communication:
- Maintain open communication with project teams, clients, and vendors, ensuring alignment on project objectives.
- Provide detailed updates on project progress, including potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Safety and Quality:
- Instill a strong safety culture within the engineering team, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet QA/QC standards, maintaining high quality across all projects.
Technical Proficiency:
- Perform advanced chemical engineering calculations, including complex mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and system specifications.
- Exhibit expert-level proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and construction drawings.
Project Management:
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of FQT engineering standards and specifications and can effectively implement improvements
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of all FQT Process Engineering Deliverables throughout the entire FEL process

Technical Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field
- Passed PE (Professional Engineering)
- 5-15 years of practical engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of process engineering principles, mass and energy balances, and system/equipment sizing.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel up to 25% of workdays.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
