Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Holcim (US) Inc. seeks a Process Engineer in Ravena, NY to analyze plant operations and recommend process improvements through Cost/Benefit Analysis. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
  • Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
  • Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment.
  • Provide assistance to management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
  • Train Process Control Supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
  • Conduct for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
  • Conduct Monthly activity reporting.
  • Function as an active member of Plant Optimization and RCA Teams.
  • Communicate, improve and adhere to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

This position involves domestic/national travel up to 5% of the time.

REQUIREMENTS:

The position of Process Engineer a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific field plus 3 years of professional experience in the job offered or in a related industrial or engineering position.

The position also requires the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following:

  • 2 years: Cement process engineering.
  • 2 years: SAP business software
  • 2 years: Working with cement equipment high level control systems
  • 2 years: Optimization and repair of equipment containing refractory materials
  • 3 years: Operating a 5 stage precalciner cement kiln
