Job Description

Principal Engineer I, Sustainable Fuels

In this role, you will be a key player in developing and commercializing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production technologies as part of our dedicated focus on decarbonization and a greener earth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead pilot plant development and experimental data analysis.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Science and Catalysis/Research groups.
  • Develop reactor and process scale-up models.
  • Conduct process and reactor simulations.
  • Perform analytical testing.
  • Generate process flow diagrams for new technologies.
  • Design and implement experimental schemes for mass and energy balance.
  • Optimize processes for the preparation of basic engineering design (BED) documentation.
  • Partner with the Engineering department to create final PFDs, P&IDs, and Engineering Design Packages.
  • Ensure safe operation of pilot plant activities.
  • Proactively participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews.

Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, or energy industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technology development environment.
