General Description The Equipment Erection/Piping Coordinator (“EE/P Coordinator”) provides on-site oversight, coordination, management and technical expertise to assist the Construction Manager in monitoring the scope, schedule and resources of Mechanical Subcontractors and craft.

The EE/P Coordinator monitors installation means and methods during the installation phase and ensures all specifications and design requirements are met during the installation phase of the project. That position also interfaces daily with mechanical subcontractor craft superintendents (millwrights – boilermakers – pipefitters – ironworkers – etc.)

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures a high-quality installation of mechanical equipment and systems including underground and aboveground piping, gas turbine and auxiliary equipment, gas compressors, air compressors and exhaust stack
  • Integrates safety into project plans, reinforces safety policies, supports safety training and corrects unsafe conditions
  • Acts as the single point contact for mechanical subcontractors and craft to review and resolve RFIs
  • Supervises the installation of all piping systems
  • Provides constructability review and feedback to Design Engineers
  • Systematically and regularly appraises and evaluates progress against goals, timelines and objectives
  • Attends daily site coordination meetings
  • Communicates lessons learned and best practices concerning the mechanical/piping scope of work
  • Assists the start-up team during the start-up, commissioning and testing of the power plant
  • Effectively tracks all details related to changes to the work to ensure accurate and timely change order requests from subcontractors

Qualifications:

  • 15-20 years of experience working with high and medium pressure piping systems and associated equipment
  • Strong technical knowledge of the latest ASME, API, CSA, ABSA, NFPA and OSHA codes & standards
  • Thorough understanding of industrial mechanical construction activities in order to properly apply code requirements and monitor construction progress
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of mechanical craft agreements, jurisdiction, cost control methods, schedule maintenance and safety

Salary Range: $170,000 – $185,000
