Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the FPL Power Generation team.
This position will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large scale universal solar and or battery facilities inside the state of Florida. This position will report to the Solar & Storage FL Panhandle Engineering Leader, under the Power Generation Team, and will work out of the Florida Panhandle Region.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Routine tasks include executing inspections of watch, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor and OEM coordination, root cause analysis, and duties as assigned. Engineers on the FPL solar team will spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar facilities. At times, PGD Engineer will be on-call and responsible for the FL Panhandle Region Sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM’s, Vendors and Contractors as required. Working weekends and nights outages is required at times.
Engineer should be highly motivated with a strong bias for action and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred. Previous PV solar and Battery experience preferred.
