Role Overview: Photographer II

The Photographer II is responsible for creating our company vision through photography for our product lines. This role is perfect for someone who excels in organizational skills and process management in a high-volume, digital studio environment. In this position, you will create high-quality product photography and organize and manage photography projects to ensure timely completion. You will also implement efficient processes for photography workflow and studio operations, collaborating with other teams to meet daily photography requests and procurement needs.

We are looking for an experienced photographer with a strong background in product photography. The ideal candidate will have proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced digital studio, with excellent organizational and process management skills. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential, and a passion for macro photography is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Department Head with training of new employees as asked
  • Execute high profile shoots for Shop LC
  • Assist Photographer 1 and 3 in daily tasks as asked
  • Communicate equipment repairs and needs to the Department Head
  • Take pictures for our web, catalog, TV and social media platforms.
  • Able to capture stylized images of products such as jewelry, fashion, home dcor, beauty and more.
  • Ability to skillfully take precise shots of very small objects.
  • Prepare for photoshoots; Set up lighting, backdrops, style product, steam apparel, other shoot related tasks.
  • Manage product shot list; Shot list preparations, image file naming, image cropping and image uploading.
  • Reply to emails in a prompt manner.
  • Learn the layout of our warehouse to occasionally procure and return product as needed.
  • Understand deadlines and schedules in order to help prioritize product.
  • Support production flow, organize and maintain sets, photographic equipment, props and studios.
  • Communicate daily with various teams about procuring items.
  • Help organize and prioritize task lists.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned per business needs.

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of taking pictures for various platforms (TV, web, social media, marketing and other commercial platforms)
  • 2+ years of macro photography.
  • Experience in Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Experience using Nikon cameras
  • Experience in product styling
  • Solid knowledge of studio lighting and off camera flashes
  • Strong compositional skills
  • Ability to capture an image that represents the product accurately with minimal photo retouching
  • Proactive problem solving, both technically and creatively, with constant attention to process improvement
  • Energetic, creative and detail oriented
  • Organized, and process driven.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in an ever-changing fast paced environment
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be open to critique and able to follow direction well

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one workplace to another
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 40 pounds in all directions
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Operating lighting and photography tools
