Position Summary

We are seeking a Permitting (Expeditor, Specialist, Manager) who will be responsible for the research, data collection, and early submission assistance of permits for our utility-scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects. Involved in the process from RFP to project handover to the Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Preconstruction efforts in researching all discretionary permits required to construct and operate utility-scale PV and energy storage projects.
  • Investigate and outline the permitting process in varying jurisdictions, including application requirements, fees, anticipated approval timelines, required studies and the likelihood of securing the required permits.
  • Prepare and implement permitting strategies, schedules and agency/public outreach efforts to minimize project cost and risk.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external consultants to verify possible outcomes have been captured.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of federal, state, regional, and local permits, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent problem solving and strategic thinking skills; ability to add value through creative input and forward-thinking.
  • An extremely high level of attention to detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of work products.

Requirements

  • Successful track record of researching discretionary permits and approvals for solar/BESS construction projects is preferred.
