Job Description

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The On-Site Logistics Manager will oversee all logistics operations on the construction site, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of materials, equipment and resources. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing schedules, and maintaining inventory to support project timelines and objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Plan and manage the logistics strategy for the site
  • Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials and equipment
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely arrivals
  • Maintain accurate inventory records
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste
  • Supervise logistics team on site
  • Participate in regular meetings to update team members or project progress
  • Coordinate with project managers and contractors to align logistics with construction phases
  • Address any logistical challenges that arise
  • Implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in solar construction
  • Strong leadership and communications skills
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in solar farm construction logistics
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in construction
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires physical activity and the ability to navigate the construction site including walking on uneven terrain, surfaces and climbing stairs
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and regulations, which may include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests
  • Tolerance for outdoor work environments exposed to sun, wind, rain, and temperature variations
  • Use of hands and fingers for handling tools, equipment and documentation
  • Adequate vision and hearing for understanding safety signals, reading plans, and monitoring site activities
