Position Specific Description

Under direct supervision, this job applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. You will work with a small team of site engineers in supporting daily plant operations and maintenance, conducting analysis on system performance and reliability strategies. Through this effort you will develop knowledge and skills within a specific discipline area and gain direct knowledge about a running nuclear station and its various sub systems. You will be tasked with evaluating conditions and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks to support performance and equipment reliability. Candidates must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in your engineering program of study to be considered.

Some of the responsibilities for our plant internships are listed below:

  • Learn safe work practices at the plant and participate in hazard identification during pre-job briefs
  • Apply knowledge to actual operating failure modes experienced in the fleet
  • Piping and Instrumentation Drawing reviews and updates
  • Support the validation of daily operating procedures
  • Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the plant (including such items as: preventative maintenance routines, startup and shutdown activities)
  • Intern will work with the equipment on how to analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Conduct field walk-downs and mark-ups for plant change documentation
  • Be part of an improvement project to present to the management team at the conclusion of the internship.
