As Generac broadens our product portfolio with commercial & industrial energy storage and microgrid offerings, there is a need to broaden our access to market with large National go to market partners focused on microgrid, energy storage and solar related projects and customers. The emphasis of this role is to identify and build relationships with specific such National partners in North America (US & Canada) as part of our overall commercial & industrial energy storage commercialization efforts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of sales experience selling directly into the assigned industry
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10 years or more of sales or business development experience selling directly into the assigned industry
  • Significant established relationships in the assigned industry
  • Demonstrated skills at building and executing a commercial go to market strategy for a new product/technology and/or end market in the assigned industry
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Identify and build relationships with key National commercial & industrial energy storage and microgrid go to market partners in North America engineering firms, electrical contractors, EPCs, developers
  • Map out the current landscape of potential partners and identify if there is a mutual fit between them and Generac to help commercialize our commercial & industrial energy storage and microgrid product offerings
  • Develop a clear framework for evaluating National go to market partners – National coverage, project execution experience, other major storage brands represented, types of projects executed, buss. Dev. capability etc.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders and other regional business development managers to layout a coherent go to market strategy with a list of regional and National partners, structure, execute and manage commercial contracts, help train and build familiarity with the partners on our commercial & industrial energy storage and microgrid offerings, support their business development efforts on commercial & industrial energy storage and microgrid offerings projects
  • Manages sales pipeline for the National partner network and support them with advancing commercial opportunities
  • Train and measure the effectiveness of the National partner network to help scale up our commercial and industrial energy storage and microgrid offerings business, including growing our share of wallet with each partner
  • Continually monitor our sales performance across the National partner network, ID roadblocks/gaps that is limiting our success and engage with each partner at the executive and working level teams to help resolve them
  • Enable the National partner network to successfully represent Generacs commercial & industrial energy storage and microgrid offerings offerings by providing support around (but not limited to) product training, specifications, pricing, project specific sizing/feasibility studies, detailed submittals, commercial negotiations etc. Lean in on the broader Generac industrial organization for support as needed
  • Continually look out for new go to market pathways to help accelerate the growth of our commercial & industrial storage business new partners, verticals, incentive plays, business models etc.
  • Be a thought leadership champion in this space to grow awareness of Generac within the wider distributed energy storage sector
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated skills at building and executing a commercial go to market strategy for a new product/technology and/or end market in the assigned industry
  • Understanding of the energy needs and challenges faced by customers in the assigned industry and the business models around procuring energy solutions
  • Demonstrated caliber to take on open ended challenges, innovate around business models, create partner ecosystems, and develop new business
  • Demonstrated skills around being an energy solutions architect
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage key National partner accounts including growing share of wallet with partners
  • Demonstrated ability to balance both strategic and tactical tasks associated with building and managing a go to market National network of partners
  • Set of relations and network within the engineering firm, electrical contractor, developer, EPC network in CA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills;

  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture;
  • Ability to analyze financials
  • Knowledge of the internal processes and systems that support sales accounts
Compensation: Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role when based in California is $144,000 to $216,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short- and long-term incentives. Remote work environment is supported, position locations available in California.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 – 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
