Job Title: Medium Voltage Design Engineering Manager Full Time, Direct Hire Position

Location: Washington DC Metro, Jacksonville, FL & Surrounding Areas, Or REMOTE Candidates with up to 50% travel

Salary Exempted Position

A global leader in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) markets is seeking a highly skilled Medium Voltage (MV) Design Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of engineers. The company specializes in custom medium voltage product design, with a focus on innovation and efficiency. This role is crucial in ensuring that all designs meet customer specifications and comply with industry standards (UL IEEE), while also optimizing the design-to-manufacture process.

The successful candidate will oversee a talented team of engineers, streamline design processes across multiple locations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, custom MV products such as switchgear. The role demands strong leadership, deep technical knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of design engineers, driving efforts to standardize and optimize MV design processes.
  • Ensure designs adhere to relevant UL, IEEE, and ANSI standards, specifically for metal-clad switchgear.
  • Collaborate with sales, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in medium voltage design, particularly with switchgear and bus bars.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and knowledge of relevant standards (UL, IEEE).
  • 3-5 years of experience managing design teams in a fast-paced, custom design-to-order environment.
