Position Overview:

Harris Energy Solutions (HES) is a nationwide Energy Consulting Services firm. HES offers a full suite of consulting services, including Building Energy Modeling, Renewable Energy Consulting, Master Planning, Energy Audit, Building Commissioning, and Building Retro- Commissioning. We pride ourselves in the work we perform and the services we provide. HES is hiring a Mid-Level Energy Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to the Company as it pertains to building commissioning, energy modeling, energy consulting, and energy engineering.
  • Develop Energy Audits for the Companys clients to reduce energy consumption and encourage sustainability measures.
  • Serve as project manager and primary point of contact for assigned energy services projects, as appropriate.
  • Oversee building energy system commissioning projects to ensure efficient system operation.
  • Perform training for clients/projects as needed.
  • Perform on-site inspections with required associated reporting of equipment for prospective clients/projects.
  • Under future hires supervise energy services personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and control, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Oversee activities of contractors, vendor personnel, and suppliers related to energy system installation, commissioning, and operations; monitor contracts for compliance, controls costs, and adherence to contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Evaluate preventive maintenance programs; modify programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical assistance and project management for photovoltaic and renewable projects.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate customer service procedures and standards; interface with customers and resolve problems and conflicts, as necessary. Respond to potential requests for proposals on behalf of the Company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities)
  • 2-5 years of experience in the energy engineering field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of energy efficiency technologies, HVAC systems, and renewable systems
  • Experience with large commercial and multi-family buildings preferred but not necessary.
  • Approximately 25% travel throughout the United States

Preferred Experience:

  • Perform Energy Modelling: Perform drawing reviews to identify applicable building components, Compile data for inputs into building energy modeling software, and execute building modeling.
  • Perform ASHRAE Level I/II/II Energy Audits: Analyze utility bills and drawings to identify building energy consumption, conduct onsite energy audits of complex building systems, Identify Energy Conservation Measures, perform energy savings and cost analyses for project, generate technical reports for deliverables to clients.
  • Perform Retro-Commissioning Studies, analyze utility bills and drawings to identify building energy consumption, conduct onsite performance testing of complex building systems, Identify Retro-Commissioning Measures, perform energy savings and cost analyses for projects, and generate technical reports as deliverables to clients.
  • Perform Building Commissioning: generate commissioning plan, perform design reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals, create Pre-Functional and Functional Checksheets, conduct site visits to inspect construction progress, execute PFCs and FCs, generate systems manual/final commissioning reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
