We are an electronic retailer of jewelry and lifestyle products headquartered in Austin, Texas with a passionate team of approximately 550 people. Our products are sold through TV on 80m homes through our live 24*7 broadcasts, our website, OTT, marketplaces, and social media.

The other retailing units of VGL Group are in the UK (Shop TJC) and Germany (Shop LC, Germany). MERCHANDISE SALES PLANNER ROLE OVERVIEW

The Merchandise Sales planner will be in charge of the planning of products for sales presentations on the Shop LC TV channel. There will be a lot of scheduling of shows involved. This role is also accountable for driving sales, managing inventory, and ensuring productivity with multiple teams.

Work Schedule
10:30 AM to 06:30 PM (Ability to work on Sundays. Weekly offs on Fridays and Saturdays)

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the MP&A Manager and deliver high-quality product plans for our 24/7/365 environment.
  • Analyze the inventory to define what should be offered for sales during each hour on-air.
  • Review the sales history for each product before planning to ensure correct strategies are in place to maximize sales for each show.
  • Note essential information about products in the show sheet to ensure effective communication with the Sales and Buying teams.
  • Working with the merchandise planning and allocation (MP&A) team in Austin as well as communicating with the offshore team in India.
  • Ensuring great coordination so that both departments work efficiently and well within the organization.
  • Project sales projection for each product to be shown on air to ensure the show achieves sales targets.
  • Add creative and promotional ideas to the show to ensure the show achieves sales targets.
  • Ensure timely completion of product planning.
  • Inventory management to ensure 70% new and 30% old mix.
  • Give feedback and business users requirements to IT department for software enhancement and development of new software utilities.
  • Analyze sales data, research pricing, and costing vs. benefit comparisons.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by the manager.

Skills/Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Sales or Merchandise planning is a plus.
  • A true passion to drive sales and a “hunger” to make money.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with diverse international clientele.
  • Excellent analytical skills are critical.
  • Decision making and team management skills.
  • Problem-solving ability for planned products as well as “on the fly”.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Moving around to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
