Mechanical Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (in office – no hybrid or remote candidates)

Position Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components for our hydrogen fuel cell products. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to innovate and optimize mechanical solutions that meet performance, reliability, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze mechanical systems and components, including but not limited to, cooling systems, pumps, valves, and enclosures.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform engineering calculations to validate designs and ensure compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internationally (including electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineers) to integrate mechanical designs into overall product architecture.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Perform engineering simulations and analyses (e.g., stress analysis, thermal analysis, fluid flow analysis) to optimize design performance and reliability.
  • Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and testing activities to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support manufacturing and production teams by resolving design-related issues and implementing design changes as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the energy, chemical, or related industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and engineering simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of hydrogen fuel cell technology and/or renewable energy systems is a plus.
