Job Summary

The Marketing Events Specialist will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive trade show and events program, collaborating with project managers, marketers, and business developers across more than 90 North American offices. This role is pivotal in optimizing tradeshow participation and internal events to maximize value and return on investment. While the position offers remote work flexibility, travel is required to support internal and external events throughout North America.

Plan and execute internal leadership conference to fuel collaboration and growth

  • In collaboration with the planning committee, lead overall development and execution for the Salas O’Brien Leadership and Technical Conference every 18 months, driving its success and impact on organizational growth.
  • Use Cvent software platform to manage registration and event information.
  • Manage relationships and bookings with hotel, restaurants, and third-party vendors, negotiating contracts and tracking costs.
  • Manage all internal communications pre- and post-event.

Assist Other Marketers With Event Planning Tools And Resources

  • Develop a scalable plan and tools for trade show and event management that can easily be deployed by other stakeholders across Salas O’Brien.
  • Work across business units to guide project managers and marketers in identifying and qualifying new tradeshow and conference opportunities.
  • Provide strategic guidance to project managers, marketers, and business developers on budget preparation to meet event objectives.
  • Work closely with project managers, marketers, and business developers to produce supporting collateral, including pre-event communications, social media posts, presentation support, media kiosks, exhibit handouts, post-event communications, and others as needed.
  • Build relationships with vendors to develop and produce new options for tradeshow exhibits and giveaways, ensuring compliance with Salas O’Brien brand standards.

You Will Be a Great Fit If

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or Marketing
  • 2+ years’ experience in tradeshow or event coordination
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and graphic design software
  • Ability to travel to Salas O’Brien offices or tradeshows as needed
  • Engineering industry marketing support experience
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and graphic design software applications, Cvent preferred
  • Experience with negotiations, cost tracking, and budget management preferred
