Q CELLS Home Energy Solutions seeks a Manager of Permitting to manage and control projects through administrative and specialized expertise with the Home Energy System division. This position will oversee all aspects of the permitting milestones and all other related activities at this stage including utility applications and HOA approvals. Major responsibilities include submission of design packages to building offices to obtain permits, managing the performance of permitting vendors, conducting business reviews with permitting vendors, negotiating pricing and contracts with vendors, streamlining processes for all aspects of the permitting process to ensure best in class permit processing times and building out and leading team of permit specialists.

This is a key position with the responsibility for building and scaling the solar support operations to match the growth of the business. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong analytical skills, great attention to detail, and problem solving and communication skills. This position will be based out of the Irvine, CA office, with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct managers discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote options are available for exceptional cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vendor/People Management responsible for managing multiple vendors with the potential to buildout and manage a team of 2 -5 employees.
  • Permit, AHJ research, and support to ensure AHJ database is maintained with most recent AHJ requirements
  • Become a subject matter expert on the Qcells Q.Home battery system and Q.volt inverter for residential applications
  • Track delayed permit approvals and resolve delays, as needed
  • Review operational procedures and ensure conformance to industry best practices
  • Analyze and monitor team performance to improve upon cycle times
  • Update CRM, fulfillment portal, third party financier portals and various other business tools.
  • Develop system to track permit vendor performance
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews with permitting vendors on performance
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with permitting vendors
  • Source and vet new permitting vendors
  • Build internal team to submit permit applications for residential PV and storage systems
  • Hire, on-board, and train team of permitting specialists

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in related field with a minimum of 5+ years experience in solar system design and engineering
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership, team development, people management
  • Detailed, analytical thinker with ability to recruit and lead quantitative talent
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present credit management, vision and strategy in internal and external forums

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
