Maintenance Technician

Required:

• Completion of apprenticeship or training program and 3 years previous experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
• Knowledge in skills such as welding, pipe fitting, lubrications, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, carpentry and use of tool room machines
• Mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, carpentry, and repair of production machines
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment, as well as working alone
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
• Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematic and technical drawings, layouts, or other visual aids
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite and SAP
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required as this position has the potential to be on 2nd shift should production support requirements change in the future.

Preferred:

• Good knowledge of industrial HVAC system, (certification is a benefit)
• Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance
• Knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturing
• Knowledge of MTU America products, policies, and procedures

Daily work is performed in a durable goods manufacturing environment. The employee may also be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.

Equipment:

• Computer, software, calculator, common office equipment and 2-way radio
• Power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, meggers, test lamps etc.
