Job Summary Statement:

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the highly automated solar module manufacturing plant. They are responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment and systems to minimize downtime and optimize production output.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment, including scheduling and conducting routine maintenance tasks.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve equipment failures and malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize production interruptions.
  • Drive LEAN manufacturing knowledge and capabilities within Maintenance organization
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities based on production schedules, equipment availability, and criticality of systems.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule equipment downtime for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Oversee the procurement of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring adequate inventory levels and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance technicians on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory usage.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of equipment performance data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement and driving improvements in OEE.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards in all maintenance activities, including implementation of predictive Safety methodologies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and support.
  • TPM development and implementation
  • Use of data analytics such as MTBF and MTTR for determining equipment health
  • Development a maintenance strategy to support a 24/7/365 operation to include PM, PdM, CBM, RM
  • Develop the maintenance management system. Prior experience with SAP will be an asset
  • Setup and manage VMI, OMR spares
  • Monitor and control the maintenance GL accounts
  • Participate in periodic maintenance reports, budget, reviews and forecasts
  • Participate in Capex projects identification and implementation

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance leadership roles within a highly automated manufacturing environment, preferably in the solar energy industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems used in manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with predictive and preventive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and hands-on approach to addressing maintenance challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, and confined space entry.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order management and asset tracking.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
