Job Description

  • Lead and coordinate a team of warehouse workers and distribute tasks between them. Picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity.
  • Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork ensuring that all products are properly counted. Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment by training all employees
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories
  • Promote a consistently positive, professional and cooperative environment and maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Coordinates freight for all outbound stock transfers between locations in assigned region
  • Schedules delivery appointments and executes daily outbound shipment as required, develop location daily load plans and schedules all non-dedicated shipments with preferred carrier’s guidelines
  • Coordinates manpower requirements with 3PL service provider and provides feedback for continuous improvement
  • Completes required daily reporting requirements and will submit reports to appropriate departments, Identifies added value services and industry best practices that can have a positive impact on customer and operational requirements
  • May provide other plants with proper training on loading trucks, staging freight, etc. This would require traveling to other locations
  • May participate in annual audits for other locations when needed
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma – some college would be desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse and transportation environment
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in particular Excel & Outlook
  • Possess professional business demeanor with strong communication (written and oral) and problem-solving skills
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, high volume work environment
  • Forklift certification and valid driver’s license
  • Excellent attendance and organization skills.
