Overview:

Navitas is ready to invest in you! We are seeking a Lab Tech in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will work under the direction of senior technical staff members to produce, test, and evaluate lithium battery materials, electrodes, cells, and other cell components.

This is a 1st shift position 6:00am – 2:30pm Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of lithium-ion cells and other items.
  • Set up and operation of cell assembly equipment and lab equipment.
  • Handle and dispense chemicals under supervision.
  • Process electrodes and other cell materials.
  • QA measurements using hand measuring tools (calipers, ruler, drop gauges, etc.).
  • Operation of battery cyclers and electronic meters.
  • Follow work orders, traveler sheets, verbal instructions, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety data sheets to conduct work.
  • Participate in lab management functions (equipment/assets/area hygiene, maintenance and management; chemical hygiene; environment, health and safety; quality system; etc.) as assigned.
  • Comply with Navitas policies and procedures.
  • On site presence is essential and necessary including weekends and holidays if deemed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, including new graduates.
  • Hands-on industrial/technical experience is highly preferred.
  • STEM AS, some college, trade school, skilled trades or equivalent work, military, or technical hobby experience (such as PC building, home handyperson, maker/gearhead) is preferred.
  • Battery industry experience is preferred.
