Junior Component Drafter

Entry level Drafter for a fully remote position in the clean energy industry. Primary responsibility is to generate and release Commercial Off the Shelf “COTS” parts and related drawings in support of CAD team and engineers. Hone your drafting skills and the art of engineering documentation while enabling the production of an award winning linear generator.

Responsibilities

• Independently create COTS part models and drawings utilizing macros in SolidWorks.
• Take inputs from Jira CAD tickets.
• Perform self-check utilizing CoLab.
• Perform red-line changes to drawings while adhering to company standards and processes.
• Collaborate with engineers and CAD team to release COTS parts and drawings.
• File and maintain CAD files in PDM (Product Data Management).

Qualifications

• High school graduate, no engineering or college degree required.
• Able to work independently to follow processes with an eye on process improvement for efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks logically.
• CAD software experience or training with Solid models and drawings. Solidworks experience preferred.
• Familiar with CAD drafting principles with ability to dimension parts.
• Mechanical and or Electrical component familiarity (mechanical fasteners, electrical connectors).
• Product Data management “PDM” experience is a plus.
• Jira experience is a plus.
• Google Docs experience is a plus.

The Bay Area hourly wage for this role is $28-$31 + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is hybrid or remote. The hourly wage will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee.
