The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records for the Switching and Fusing Business Unit. This includes monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, ensuring compliance with inventory policies, and collaborating with various departments to maintain efficient inventory management practices.
- Monitor and maintain current inventory levels
- Manage cycle counters and ensure counts are being performed.
- Prepare cycle counts for counters daily
- Work with cross functional teams to execute yearly physical inventory
- Manage the SAP system inventory ensuring accuracy and updating as necessary.
- Perform regular audits to ensure inventory integrity and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management, highlighting key metrics and any issues.
- Investigate (root cause) and resolve inventory discrepancies and errors.
- Develop and implement efficient inventory management procedures and systems.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends to enhance inventory control processes.
- Obsolete inventory coordination with cross functional team.
- Investigate day to day issues in the plant pertaining to inventory accuracy and movement
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding inventory storage and handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory area to prevent accidents and damage.
- Inventory Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Material/Logistics/Manufacturing processes and material flow.
- Any major ERP/MRP experience; SAP would be very helpful but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Basic Excel proficiency (pivot tables, charts, etc.)
- Experience working in a make-to-order business would be helpful but not required
- APICS Certification would be helpful but not required
Physical demands:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking during inventory counts and audits.
Other:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends (although rare), depending on inventory needs.
