About the Role:

The Interconnection Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the interconnection process for solar projects, ensuring timely and compliant connection to the grid. This role requires a deep understanding of utility interconnection requirements, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including utilities, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Interconnection Process: Lead the end-to-end interconnection process, including application submission, coordination with utilities, and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for utilities, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure all interconnection requirements are met.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to grid interconnection, including knowledge of FERC, NERC, and state-specific guidelines.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources related to the interconnection process, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Oversight: Work closely with engineering teams to review designs and technical documents, ensuring they meet utility interconnection standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the interconnection process, including potential delays, technical challenges, and regulatory changes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all interconnection activities, including contracts, permits, and communication logs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the interconnection process.

Requirements:

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in project management within the solar or renewable energy industry, with a focus on interconnection.
  • In-depth knowledge of utility interconnection processes, regulations, and standards.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience using project management tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with utility companies in our key States and their interconnection requirements is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work onsite in Malta, NY Monday-Friday
  • Unrestricted work authorization for the US and high written and verbal English proficiency
  • Highly analytical, ability to research, digest information and to follow-up
  • Motivated initiative-taker, goal oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships and effectively communicate
  • Ability to navigate complexity, develop clear action plans and drive growth

Compensation:

The likely compensation range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 plus a discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance. Your actual salary may be above, in, or below this range, depending on your qualifications and experience.
