POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Director, Human Resources and will work closely with other Human Resources (HR) colleagues. The HR Generalist will act as a dynamic partner to the organization and will be readily available to take on new tasks and opportunities to learn as they arise.

Responsibilities include the employee lifecycle processes of recruitment, onboarding, engagement implementation including execution and strategy, development and training, retention, and offboarding. This position also requires communication and maintenance of employee status changes, updates to employee records, maintenance of electronic personnel files within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ability to report on employee data and analytics, and other general administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the administrative function of HR processes across both union and non-union colleague populations to include employee lifecycle changes within onboarding, offboarding, and employee status changes, as well as recruitment support, departmental correspondence, maintaining confidential employee files, employee engagement programs, volunteer programs, learning and development, and managing employee concerns
  • Audit transactions, updates, and changes within Human Capital System data and files
  • Ensure Human Capital Management System and other HR technologies and software are utilized efficiently and maintained effectively
  • Partner with Director, Human Resources and department managers to implement, execute and drive forward initiatives and projects to include succession planning, talent assessment, performance management, training, and compliance
  • Create and direct a strategy for the organizations union and non-union colleague communication, appreciation, and recognition programs; oversee planning and execution of union and non-union events with colleague feedback in mind
  • Manage union and non-union employee relations issues to include investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • Develop and execute engagement programs and processes to attract, onboard, develop, and retain key talent across the company
  • Proactively source events for both union and non-union colleagues with budget in mind; programs include monthly newsletter, volunteer events, and recurring appreciation events
  • Act as a liaison to managers to develop, establish, improve, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures where needed or lacking to promote consistency and enhance efficiency across the organization
  • Embody and promote company mission, vision, and values; work to sustain a culture and workforce that is engaged, results-oriented, and willing to drive decision-making throughout the organization
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are equitably applied
  • Produce, correlate, analyze, and distribute various Human Resources reports as well as other various administrative tasks as needed
  • Analyze data from quarterly and annual Engagement Survey program and support follow-up process with managers
  • Responsible for organizational information via HR email address which includes policy changes and mandatory actions communication
  • Champion a learning and development culture that sets goals and drives accountability with managers
  • Maintain strong momentum on the HR strategy and deliver practices that ensure equity, discipline, and engagement in support of the company’s evolving business needs

  • This position must be able to work with our existing processes and provide recommendations on improvements to heighten efficiency.
  • A successful candidate will be able to balance competing priorities from both the business and our teams and must be able to handle heavy workload with evolving business expectations.
  • A successful candidate will understand the nuances of each union and non-union department and be able to influence colleagues at all levels in the organization from individual contributors to department heads, to achieve key business, and cultural priorities.
  • A strong understanding of key business priorities is imperative in this role to achieve people-solutions that support business goals and needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to prioritize and work collaboratively across all levels of the of the organization with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • First-rate interpersonal and customer service skill
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software; specifically, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel
  • Experience with various Human Capital Management platforms
  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision as well as work with other departments as necessary
  • Exposure to union environment a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a corporate Human Resources environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • SHRM-CP credential desirable

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, job location, size of property where applicable, and/or certifications.
