Summary

The HSSE Intern will be responsible for:

  • Developing a digital system to assign and track compliance tasks
  • Analyzing HSSE data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Establish a process to track HSSE inspections digitally
  • Participate in the annual risk assessment review project
  • Other duties as assigned.

The HSSE Intern also will learn about the following:

  • Observe HMH’s workplace culture by interacting with different functions
  • Exposure to health, safety and environmental programs and requirements
  • Develop professional communication skills with Executive Leadership
  • Experience working with a global, multinational team

Skills/Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and working toward completion of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with Engineering or Safety majors preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Good interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across multiple functions to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to work independently or within a larger team as required by the project and subsystem.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office products, i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
