This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, New York City or Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

Role Summary
We are seeking to hire a Head of Business Development, ideally an experienced leader to expand GM’s home and public charging footprint for electric vehicles. You will play a crucial role in promoting sustainable transportation ensuring convenient access to home charging and public infrastructure for EV users.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial passion for clean energy infrastructure development and a desire to differentiate GM’s products through seamless charging experiences.
Reporting to GM’s GM Energy Chief Revenue Officer, the Head of Business Development will lead and manage a best-in-class team of about 5 staff members.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Leads critical projects and initiatives to address key strategic questions or issues for the company.
- Develops project scope and plan for key strategic projects and initiatives, including deliverables, milestones, and timing.
- Organize and guide a cross-functional team of leaders.
- Develops, coordinates and implements business strategies to align with the company’s objectives to drive growth and profitability.
- Designs and leads analysis efforts to identify simplification opportunities and quantify potential impact with support of various functions.
- Develops recommendations and drives execution of recommendations for areas of opportunity across the business.
- Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve results.
- Develop new business models for GM Energy’s charging investments including strategic negotiations for partnership development.
- Develop business models for charging as a service for public charging, fleet charging and dealer charging.
- Establish short term and long-term charging investment strategies to optimize GM Energy’s ROI and create brand differentiation for GM EV customers.

Essential Qualifications / Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in the electric vehicle charging industry with demonstrated experience in with charging market analysis, EV charging industry trends, competitor activities, regulatory policies and emerging consumer preferences.
- BA/BS in acceptable degrees (Engineering, Business, Environmental Studies or related field). MBA preferred.
- Experience with negotiating multimillion-dollar contracts.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and policies related to energy and transportation.
- Strong team orientation and demonstrated customer engagement and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to drive change on a large scale.
- Excellent negotiation and communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable and engaging manner.
- Demonstrated success in driving profitable growth in charging infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of developing and implementing effective solutions using business intelligence and data analytics.
- High EQ individual capable of impacting culture change from ad hoc start-up to process-oriented public company.
- Confident in interacting with teammates of all levels and functions, and ability to connect with a variety of personalities.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Must be initiative-taking with high energy level and a strong worth ethic.

- Involvement with EV, charging, or infrastructure advisory boards preferred.
- Comfortable initiating productive discussions in an environment with competing points of view.
- Organizational leadership skills; focus on achieving results, yet sensitivity to the need of communicating effectively with other team members.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
- The salary range for this role is ($156,200 – $239,300 ). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
