Job Description


Your Job DEPCOM Power, a leading renewable energy Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) firm, is looking to add a GIS Specialist to their team. As a GIS Specialist you will support utility scale PV Solar, Battery Storage, and Repowering projects through publishing GIS field maps for retrofit or new construction projects.

This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the GIS database management.
  • Create and update maps and other visualizations, using ESRI ArcGIS software, by extracting and copying data and geometry from AutoCAD design files.
  • Create, add, and edit attribute fields to design objects in AutoCAD.
  • Be able to create and edit kml/kmz files.
  • Publish field maps.
  • Evaluate data for accuracy, usefulness, and compatibility.
  • Coordinate with DEPCOM Engineering Staff, Site Development, and project field teams to solve backend problems, implement system enhancements and as-built updates when needed.
  • Create and manage project schedules working closely with various Engineering and Project Delivery Teams.
  • Meet project deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and update custom web based ESRI ArcGIS applications, geospatial databases, and models to support a variety of business functions.
  • Plan and implement systems and databases for storing and accessing geospatial data.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the ESRI ArcGIS application.
  • Document the design and execution of programming in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage construction user access to ArcGIS maps.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience using ESRI ArcGIS PRO
  • Experience creating, editing, and maintaining layers, shapefiles, kml/kmz files, geodatabases, in GIS.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Administration of ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, including Geodatabase.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or certification in GIS
  • Construction or land survey experience
  • Create custom GIS applications using best-practice programming structures and other available tools.
  • Experience with drone survey and LiDAR

For this role, we anticipate paying $100k – $120k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
