Manager of Project Finance – Community Solar IPP

Location: Connecticut/NYC (Hybrid or On-site)

Job Overview: I’m working on a Project Finance Manager vacancy with a Community Solar IPP that focuses on a full suite of decarbonization solutions, including onsite and offsite solar, battery storage, microgrids, and CCHP! This role is essential in supporting their growing renewable energy portfolio. The Manager of Project Finance will focus on monitoring debt and tax equity markets, supporting cross-functional teams with financial analysis, and contributing to the development of solar projects across the region. The ideal candidate will have experience in structured finance, tax equity, and the solar energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Monitoring: Track and analyze trends in debt and tax equity markets to inform project financing strategies.
  • Financial Analysis Development: Assist in the creation and refinement of financial models, forecasts, and valuations for solar projects.
  • Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with sales, development, and engineering teams to provide financial insights and support during project development and execution.
  • Project Analysis Presentations: Prepare and present detailed financial analysis and reports to stakeholders, including executive leadership, investors, and financing partners.
  • Incentive Program Navigation: Work closely with renewable energy credit (REC) programs and other state and federal incentive structures to optimize project returns.
  • Legal Document Review: Review and provide feedback on financial and legal documents, including term sheets, contracts, and agreements related to project finance, tax equity, and debt.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in structured finance, with a focus on tax equity transactions.
  • Proven experience in the solar energy industry is required.
  • Strong understanding of REC incentive programs, financial modeling, and project finance structures.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal and financial documents.
