How will you make an impact?

As a Field Service Engineer I (FSE I), you will have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive 12-month hands-on training program specifically designed to develop and enhance your proficiency as a field service engineer. You will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to proficiently implement a wide range of instrument service processes and procedures. This includes resolving issues, implementing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure the precise functionality of analytical instrumentation.

  • Networking opportunities enable the Apprentice access to Field Service managers and opportunities to progress within the Field Services organization once completing the program.

What will you do?

  • As a Field Service Engineer I, you will participate in service training programs aimed at equipping you with the vital skills to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Actively participate in Training, Mentoring, and Shadowing rotations across all service functions (Customer Service, Technical Support, Depot Repair, Field Service, Services Sales).
  • Under supervision, the FSE I will evaluate customer equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs as assigned, perform planned maintenance (PM) inspections, and maintain effective documentation of work performed.
  • Assist more experienced engineers with repairs and resolution. Work as a team member to provide efficient service delivery for all assigned work orders.
  • Document all repairs and submit reports according to business targets.
  • Maintain approved parts inventory.
  • Maintain daily communications with internal and external customers, to ensure resolution and accurate follow-up.
  • Ensure accurate care of spares, tools, and equipment calibration. Improve and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding the safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
  • FSE I is considered a “remote” colleague since they commute to customer sites to provide service.
  • FSE I May be eligible for a Fleet company vehicle.
  • Overnight travel will be expected to service customers and participate in training programs.

Keys to Success:

Education And Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preferred majors in Engineering, Chemistry, Bio-medical or Life Sciences
  • Adapts seamlessly to working independently or in a collaborative team setting.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt in diverse customer-facing environments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to relocate within the US (United States) upon completion of the 12-month program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with schematics, CAD drawings, and mechanical/electrical engineering terminology
  • Vocational education in engineering, aeronautics, electrical, radiation, automotive, mechanical, military, mining, clean energy, etc.
  • Customer Service experience
