As a Field Engineering Specialist I, you will assist with equipment installation, startup, commissioning/decommissioning services, in-house and on-site repairs, and troubleshooting. You will also provide additional support for our customers with technical support and service quotations. This role provides you with a unique opportunity to learn our business from the ground up and offers growth potential within our business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with equipment installation, startup, commissioning, decommissioning services.
  • Assist with in-house and on-site troubleshooting, repair, and testing on customer instruments, as required, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers. This support can include, but is not limited to, quoting instrument retrofits (with instructions), quoting repair cost, and calibration/troubleshooting assistance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Complete annual in-house and on-site training to improve your overall competency level of Chandler Engineering Instrumentation.
  • Complete and submit accurate Summary of Charges document; which includes diagnosis, estimate of repairs including list of parts needed, and description of repair for each instrument.
  • Completes, maintains, and processes pertinent paperwork and records.
  • Keep appropriate personnel informed of customer issues and/or technical problems.
  • Interface with customers to confirm scheduling and requirements for in-house and on-site services, as needed.
  • Work with other departments to support the customer base, as needed.
  • Back up Depot Repair Technician and other departments, as needed.
  • Perform all work in accordance with approved manuals and follow all policies and safety guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time – Domestic and International. Travel may be required for training or field service purposes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent work experience with a solid understanding of electronics.
  • Proficient in computer operation skills including file management, Outlook/video conferencing and other interpersonal communications software, web navigation, and Microsoft-based productivity software.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 0-3 years’ electro/mechanical instrumentation experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of network components and IP connectivity.
  • Experience working on High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT) equipment.
