Job Description and Responsibilities
- Perform site inspections at project sites, including multi-Megawatt solar farms, fuel cell installations, and biofuel plants located mostly in the United States, but occasionally internationally.
- Know and understand the National Electrical Code and be able to identify when certain aspects of a project have been constructed improperly.
- Remain informed on updates to National Electrical Code.
- Be able and ready to travel domestically and potentially internationally on short notice.
- Prepare written reports and presentation materials on project sites and necessities.
- Respond to client questions in a timely manner.
- Research and analyze complex problems to help stakeholders understand and reduce risk and uncertainty in renewable generation investment.
- Review project contracts, construction drawings, and technical documents.
- Write technical reports for power and renewable energy generation assets or related technologies, including economic evaluations.
- Run commercial software for forecasting solar PV system production (SAM, PVSyst).
- Assist financial analysts with the development of cash flow models for power generation assets.
- Model power plant generation, operating expenses, emissions, and capital costs.
- Perform company, industry, and market analysis.
- Be an integral member of the firms consulting technical team.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, energy engineering, physics or other science
- 3-5 years equivalent experience in lieu of Masters degree
- Preferred Certifications/Training: PV online certification course, OSHA 30, Arc Flash Safety Training
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with common programming languages and methodology (Ex. Python)
- Exceptional problem-solving ability including logical reasoning, creative thinking, and the ability to untangle complex issues
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible individual with the ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
