Job Title: Field Application Engineer

Position/ Location: FAE – Los Angeles

Summary: We are looking for a Field Application Engineer for our Los Angeles region.

Responsibilities:

• Provide pre-sales technical support to TeraHive sales team and installation partners, addressing inquiries and ensuring code compliance.

• Conduct design reviews and share detailed product knowledge to guide partners in system design and installation.

• Manage new product introduction (NPI) initiatives, including field trials and beta installations.

• Offer in-field support and advanced troubleshooting during installations (30-40% domestic travel).

• Support Sales Organization with product technical expertise and provide clear customer technical requirements feedback.

• Execute customer-facing field trial programs and NPI field activities.

• Develop and deliver technical documentation, including design guides, line diagrams, and best practices.

• Engage in specialized system design support activities and coordinate field testing for new hardware and software.

• Collaborate closely with Customer Support and Field Services to ensure best-in-class customer experience.

Qualifications:

• Preferred BS in Engineering or Licensed Master Electrician with 4+ years of practical experience in solar, energy storage, and energy management applications.

• Extensive experience in design, engineering, and construction of residential solar electric and energy storage systems.

• Detailed understanding of PV and energy storage system performance, economic modeling, and troubleshooting electrical systems and data networks using various tools.

• Strong knowledge of NEC and system regulatory codes for PV and energy storage installations, including NFPA 70, IEEE1547, UL1741, and Rule 21.

• Experience in the implementation of inverters/converters, DC & AC systems, and component interconnection methods between PV and energy storage systems and the grid.

• Ability and willingness to travel locally, domestically, and internationally as needed, with experience in remote work and strong self-management skills
