Role Description

This is an opportunity to have a direct and daily impact in an exciting American energy technology and manufacturing company. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is at the forefront of delivering top level support, being part of a service leading department.

In this role, you will support our Manufacturing Facility systems equipment and office operations. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for making sure our Weirton, WV facility runs smoothly and supports our technical operations. The ideal candidate will be both able to independently execute day-to-day operations and maintenance activities as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to quickly tackle facility service and repair issues. You will work closely with all members of the Form Energy team to provide a great and safe place to work. The ideal candidate will bring a can-do attitude, and strong independent problem solving skills. Hands-on experience within computer software programs, manufacturing or lab operations, or a start-up is a plus.

The schedule for this position is a 12 hour alternating work week schedule. Steady daylight and steady night turn positions are available.

This opportunity is based out of the Greater Pittsburgh Area at Form Factory 1.

What you’ll do:

  • Become proficient with our Computerized Maintenance Management System, Maintain X.

  • Perform tasks to complete work requests via our CMMS system.

  • Support a safe, reliable facility by providing exceptional customer service with all facility equipment systems and general workplace issues and needs.

  • Execute preventative facilities maintenance, repairs, inspections and improvement tasks in support of Factory systems.

  • Perform safety walkthrough and inspections including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, all building HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical systems, fire alarm & suppression systems, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid cabinets, AED, etc.

  • Plan/execute/monitor facility installations such as installing water distribution, equipment airlines, low volt electrical circuits, safety equipment and manufacturing equipment, as needed.

  • Become familiar with and proficient using our Building Automation System software to monitor all systems connected to it.

  • Fabricate, assemble and install facility utilities for equipment, as requested.

  • Support manufacturing & engineering team members with related Facilities activities within the Factory.

  • Participate in pre-task planning, coordination and communication with all Stakeholders.

  • Interface with vendors, provide continuous improvement ideas, work as a team to collaborate to maintain a safe, secure environment.

  • Continue to grow in areas of expertise and learn in all other areas of knowledge.

What you’ll bring:

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and help.

  • Organized and detail-oriented individual.

  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with a focus in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting with equipment, fabrication, installation of building systems utilities and great customer service.

  • Experience using hand tools, troubleshooting, electrical wiring, fabricating, assembling and installing tooling or equipment.

  • Ability to learn cloud-based organizational tools.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to shift gears quickly and come back to original tasks as needed or assist in areas outside of experience.

  • Strong communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization.

  • Ability to safely operate a fork truck and lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Electrical &/or Mechanical trades skills are a plus.
