Location – Santa Clara, CA

On-site 5 days/wk

9am – 5pm

Position Summary As a technician, you’ll be at the heart of our cutting-edge work in battery development and research. This position offers you the unique opportunity to dive into exciting projects, and make a real impact on our journey to revolutionize energy storage technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the hands-on assembly and performance evaluation of battery components.
  • Maintain meticulous records, prepare clear and concise reports, and document experimental procedures and results.
  • Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Gain hands-on experience with advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and technicians to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to synthesize materials with ball-milling, furnace etc.
  • Contribute to characterize material properties with microscope etc.
  • Assemble cells and evaluate performance of battery with variety of diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain inventory of consumables and support ordering and receiving.

Travel– may travel for training 1 or 2 trips, not much

Degree not required, experience is more important. They need to come from a chemistry or battery lab/environment

Trying to make new materials by heat treatment or other method, test in lab. Solid state vs. lithium – some training can be provided, but do need lab experience

Lab technician – materials synthesis lab for batteries – technician in handling chemicals – chemistry lab would be good

Very similar to NTCNA – battery test, xray defraction device – argon filled environment. Will maintain the equipment, maintain inventory of chemicals for the lab

Will be assigned tasks, mix chemicals, maintain a clean work environment in the lab

Assemble small cells and testing

Small tube that gets heated (for furnace)

Small cell assembly – cell charge/discharge

Maintenance, keep the lab clean. It’s a small team, so they have to be willing to do whatever is needed.

Green card Needs export control form. ***thatwill have to be provided for all green card holders with their submittal

China, north Korea, Vietnam, Russia,Iraq and iran – all these countries need export control; we should ask for allgreen card holders
