General Information

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a ETRM Presales Consultant for it’s Broomfield, CO location.

Mission Statement

Pre-sales subject matter expert in Wholesale Electricity markets that will pursue business development strategies including pre-sales activities, provide functional and technical subject matter expertise and ensure smooth handover from sales to project implementation. Knowledge in other commodities such as Natural Gas, LNG and Environmental is a plus. Understanding of the entire trade life-cycle from Front Office, Risk Management through Back Office and potentially scheduling/Logistics. Also, you are expected to demonstrate a high-level understanding of business processes and integration solutions in ETRM industry, leverage the knowledge and skills to prepare and present the solution demonstration. As an integral part of the sales team, you are able to assist with creating, implementing, and monitoring sales support processes to drive sales revenue. Additionally, you will work with the subject matter experts in order to ensure adequate support of the proposal process that includes preparing technical/functional responses to RFx.

Some national and international travel will be required.

Your Responsibilities

  • Business Development Strategy: Co-creates, implements and reviews global sales support strategies to sell Hitachi Energy ETRM solutions. Drives with Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) Product Group strategic approach and market message provides value to the company’s customers and creates a competitive advantage.
  • Assists in lead qualification: Aids market development representatives (MDRs) to qualify prospects and leads, ideally providing information and instructing them to be self-sufficient.
  • Demo Systems: Takes ownership of demo systems for North American hub to ensure the delivery of effective, high quality, business relevant solution demonstration. Establishes a standard process to maintain the demo flow, scripts and visualization on a regular basis.
  • Proposal development in RFx processes
  • Drives team to produce the most compelling and concise proposal response.
  • Risk: Supports bid/no bid analyses and decisions. Participates in project risk review processes.
  • Competitiveness and Product Demonstration: Ensures thorough evaluation of sales opportunities in the sales lifecycle such that company resources are most wisely spent. Employs Best Business Practices by promoting the expanded ETRM offering leveraging our EPM solutions that can provide more value to the customer along with competitive differentiator. Coordinates and performs professional high level and detailed product demonstrations tailored to the current prospect’s needs.
  • Coordination: Coordinates with key internal resources for customer sales engagements. Drives and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
  • Customer Engagements: Ensures support to the Sales organizations during the technical meetings, workshops, product presentations and negotiations with customers and provides technical support and clarification as needed. Serves as SME around ETRM market needs and application capabilities.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Minimum eight years of industry experience with good understanding of ETRM space, specifically in wholesale power.
  • Good working knowledge of the North American wholesale electricity market, including Physical and Financial Power contracts as well as exposure to North American ISO/RTOs, Natural gas pipelines, Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, energy storage.
  • Good knowledge of Power and PPA logistics.
  • Prior relevant work experience with prominent ETRM vendors.
  • Coordinates teams with a focus on operational execution; short/medium-term operational/tactical responsibilities.
  • Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations of complex business and technical subject matters.
  • Willingness to travel.
