ROLE SUMMARY

This position is for the technical leader for our equipment engineering team. As the technical leader you would need to be an expert in equipment engineering, as well as a leader on the team. Equipment engineers are responsible for the selection and sizing of key equipment through the BESS design process. You would be part of the engineering organization that works to design the BESS, from first bid, all the way through installation.

This position is full time and located in the US. Travel is expected to be 10% or less.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentoring of junior engineers
  • BESS and Technology selection
  • Review of technical requirements and providing replies to technical RFIs related to BOM
  • Sizing and arrangement of BESS Equipment
  • BOM creation and management including major equipment and BOP
  • Coordination between subcontractors and suppliers, and PM
  • Creation of standard practices and best practices)
  • Client management technical fronts
  • Collaborative approach to build harmony with internal stakeholders and suppliers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • Graduate of University program in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in power generation & distribution environment preferred
  • Certifications/Licenses
    • Professional engineering designation preferred
  • Other Competencies
    • Excellent working knowledge of excel and BOM management
    • Familiarity of Project Management Tools
    • Knowledge of power distribution system fundamentals, Engineering Standards and distribution system specs such as NEC, UL, IEEE, OBC, NFPA, etc.
    • Familiarity with health and safety legislation
