Responsibilities: Position reports to the Director of SCM Logistics, Program Mgmt. and Sustainability to perform diversified duties related to environmental sustainability activities across the system. Participates, supports and drives sustainability initiatives including intiatives to help reduce Southcoast Health’s carbon footprint, in line with regulatory guidelines. Be a key resource in support of the HHS pledge to reduce emissions 50% below 2011 levels by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050. Stay current with regard to all HHS, DPH, etc. programs, funding opportunities, and applicable activities. Support activities with outside collaborators such as GPO, government, and regulatory bodies. Performs research, analysis to supplement and assist initiatives, projects and programs. Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from accredited Environmental or other related Science program.
  • 3+ years of experience as part of a team driving Scope 1, 2 & 3 reductions.
  • Experience creating programs to reduce energy consumption, improve reuse/recycling, etc.
  • Ability to develop high-quality presentation materials, communicate and influence across the organization.
  • Knowledge of ESG concepts and proficiency in recognized sustainability reporting methodologies (GRI, EcoDesk, RBA, CDP). Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment processes, tradeoffs, and approaches.
  • Responsible for research, collation, and analysis of data supporting sustainability reporting against multiple ESG frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills to include understanding of statistics as they apply to environmental research.
  • In-depth knowledge of global sustainability trends. Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make fact-based decisions with speed and accuracy.
  • Effective Sustainability grant writing and research capabilities.
  • Familiarity with hospital Joint Commission requirements and Life safety protocols is required.
  • Proficiency in power point, Word, excel is required.
  • Other office automation / business tools preferred.
  • WELL AP, LEED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Pay Range: USD $70,969.60 – USD $119,204.80 /Yr.
