LOCATION: REMOTE based in the United States with a preferred hybrid schedule in a JLL office.
JLL has a target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2040 with no more than 5% offsets. We are one of only seven companies to have our net-zero carbon target certified to the Science Based Targets initiative’s Net-Zero Standard.
The Environment Lead, Americas – Sourcing and Procurement will join the Global ESG Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) Team with team members based in the US, the UK, the Netherlands and Australia. The Global ESG team has a fantastic opportunity to embed ESG into annual procurement spend of ~$12.6 billion for JLL’s clients and corporate operations.
As the Environment Lead, Americas – Sourcing and Procurement, you will play a crucial role in driving environmental performance within the supply chain for our clients and JLL. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with the global ESG S&P team and internal business partners to drive excellence and consistency across regions.
- Collect, analyze, and present greenhouse gas emissions data and environmental metrics.
- Develop and implement emissions reduction strategies with our supply partners.
- Draft and implement the environmental aspects of ESG Standards for key services and support supplier compliance against these.
- Build relationships with external stakeholders, including industry associations, and suppliers, and speak at environmental/ESG events.
- Stay up-to-date on supply chain best practices, regulations, and industry trends related to climate change, decarbonization, greenhouse gas emissions accounting and waste management.
- Provide environmental training to internal teams and suppliers.
- Contribute to business development and sales activities
- Assess the environmental footprint of procured goods and services.

- Ability to drive results internally with the Sourcing and Procurement team, client accounts, and externally with suppliers and clients.
- Experience in developing and implementing environmental initiatives within a large organization or real estate portfolio.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for carbon accounting, such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard, and ISO 14064.
- Desirable experience in conducting lifecycle assessments (LCAs). Proficiency in LCA software such as SimaPro, GaBi, or Open LCA is considered a plus.
- Have technical expertise in scope 3 emissions Category 1 – Purchased Goods and Services. Demonstrate a proven track record in accurately calculating, reporting, and managing Scope 3 emissions associated with this category.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of carbon accounting principles, including greenhouse gases, decarbonization strategies, and carbon offsetting mechanisms.
- Solid data management and data analytics skills
- Ability to analyze complex problems and generate solutions.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with competing timelines.
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team.
