Position Description Evaluates, tests and makes recommendations regarding customer concerns/problems, manufacturing methods, design modifications, and engineering processes using broad product knowledge. Works with existing, modified and new products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, conducts and analyzes standard tests and prepares conclusive technical reports to resolve customer concerns/problems
  • Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve problems
  • Originates and applies new and unique approaches to evaluate engine, component and product design failures
  • Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to Concept Analysis, Business Case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps
  • Recommends methods of manufacturing during the design of new products,design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
  • Travels to customer sites as necessary to review applications and discuss problems
  • Assists internal key stakeholders in developing and demonstrating new business initiatives for customers aimed at product placement and sales/revenue improvement
  • Organizes and coordinates product related activities for external customers as required
  • Performs analysis of modeled engineering problems using existing methods/software
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Able to convey an understanding verbally and in writing of technical concepts and issues to non-technical personnel internally and externally
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical/electrical requirements related to the area of responsibility
  • Basic knowledge of engineering related computer systems/software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of internal combustion engines and related products
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum five years of engineering or engineering related experience required
  • Two years of professional experience working closely with non-technical personnel in a technical environment

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 25%
